I am a retired public school music teacher, worship leader, and church accompanist with broad experiences teaching private lessons as well as group lessons. However, I still enjoy keeping current with new resources and teaching methods in music education. To do that I am a member of several professional organizations, including MTNA and Vibrant Music Teaching, which puts me in contact with teachers all over the world who share ideas and best practices. These affiliations also afford opportunities for your student to participate in contests and adjudications which can open doors to awards, recognitions and even college scholarships.
I value the uniqueness of every student, and make every effort to use strategies to motivate each student. If your student has a specific musical goal, together we can come up with a plan to reach it. If your student is not a traditional learner I have a wealth of professional and personal experience to make your student successful.
If you would like to know more about my studio, teaching style, philosophy, please do not hesitate to contact me. I’d love to chat with you about making our world a better place by encouraging the next generation of musicians.
